Below we have a video of a very progressive thinking guy.  Taking the asphalt road that we have been taking for granted all these years and replacing it with a newer, very 21st century technological, power producing, solaricious road.  The idea is to take glass, that is as hard as steel and place solar panels under the glass. That way the road, that is just sitting in the sunlight all day now becomes a power-plant taking electricity to you and your neighbors doorsteps, for free..well until the power company finds some way to charge you for it.

In the video he talks about how they plan to put LEDS in the panels to light up the roads, and give dynamic warnings to drivers, as well as make the pieces weathers, shatter and slip proof.  Problem is that I can’t see power companies really enjoying the thought of their billion-dollar business going the way side for free power.  I for one would love to see something like this because you know the web will spring up with hundred of ways to hack into the grid for the free energy. I enjoy the idea of taking all of these technologies and combining them into new, innovative and useful applications. With the impending loss of loss fuels, oil and energy derived from rocks we find in the ground, humanity needs progressive thinkers that are willing to take risks and push forward to harness the powers that we have around us for the free use of energy, that is clean and green. If we hope to ever get off this rock and explore the universe before our sun explodes or we kill each other, getting this world more energy efficient is a must and this is a great idea…plus when we get hover/flying cars we can just have normal glass since we won’t be going 80 over it and smashing into one another all the time. Kudps to this guy! Check out the video below.

Slow Motion Lighting looks badass!

This video of slow motion lighting makes me jealous of people like Cole from iNFAMOUS and storm from X-men. If I could control lighting I would be shooting slow-motion lighting all day. Like weed is to stoners…slow-mo lighting would be to me. With slow-mo videos finally showing scientists how things are working on a frame by frame basis, recreating things in a lab becomes much easier. Cool!

Take the whole thing with you

The picture above is an entire working bike folded between two wheels. Designer Dominic Hargreaves decided he was sick of taking one wheel off his bike only to return and find the rest of the bike missing. Since no bike manufacture’s could give him a viable solution he decided to take matters into his own hands. The Contortionist is inspired by the Transformers and everyday convenience. The bike folds into itself until it fits between it’s two 26′ wheels. So, instead of just taking a wheel with you, you can drag your wheel sized bike behind you, or pick it up for safekeeping and space saving storage. The design was nominated for a few awards and Dominic is in talks with companies to get his creation off the ground. Click the jump to see a video (trust me you want to see this thing transform). I especially like the fact that he hides the chain of the bike in the frame, genius.

I don’t like the show Jersey Shore, it’s just not my thing. Yet, it’s one of the most popular things around right now, best thing since Italian bread depending on who you ask. However, even Jersey Shore isn’t safe from internet mocking and parody and thankfully we have a good one.

The OG (original) Italians invade Jersey Shore and get into a large green pipe full of problems.  I can totally understand why PWOW and Daisy have a thing for Italians with large hands and white gloves because as a fellow Italian with big hands, there is the constant  issue of having to stomp the goomba bitches away from messing with my blow out (you know how long and how many fire flowers a blow out takes?). No one however, saw the Bowser/DK thing coming; there is something about shells and bananas that sure is sexy though. Also, the whole Wario ,the least popular character on the show (according to a polls race) using the blue shell to hone right in on that loud mouth princess’s face should have been expected, but definitely took the audience by surprise. Either way, I hope SMB:JS comes back for season 2. Watch the video yourself if your in need of a chuckle or to see how much of a warp pipe wreck it is.

Daily Nerd Couture/Geek Chic (BlackBerry inPulse)

The future is HERE! Remember that video where japan predicts the future of technology…the watch shown in the video is here…almost. The device is from BlackBerry and it’s called the inPulse.  It’s only for the most trendy BlackBerry users, but it looks so slick that I have no idea why you wouldn’t want it! It extends your black berry to your wrist via blue tooth. Being a sleek watch you look fashion conscious and you can do your work without fumbling with your GD phone. Specs are as follows:

  • 1.3″ full colour organic light-emitting-diode (OLED) display
  • Bluetooth® v2.0+EDR
  • 150 mAh lithium-ion polymer battery
  • Glass lens and full metal body
  • 22mm interchangeable wrist band
  • Vibrating motor
  • Micro-USB port (for charging)
  • Over-the-air firmware updates
  • Dimensions: 51mm height x 38mm width x 12mm depth

Hit the jump for a small video of the watch, note this is just an EXTENSION of the BlackBerry itself meaning at the moment there is no input,  just display, but they hint to future updates that would allow input, or you can check this out this  bad-ass watch/smart phone. Here’s hoping the future holds more of these devices….

My mustache curls one its own too…

This is a short film from lego to promote their new site http://legoclick.com/. The film follows an inventor as he struggles to find wings and ultimately creates rock boots with Legos…duh! I’ll be putting mine up on etsy later this year for only $15,000 (rockets are expensive!) Regardless, enjoy this small video and inspire someone with Legos!

The Karate Drunk Kid

Seriously though that kid is a Super Hero! He broke off the door handle protector, took a rock and smashed open a refreshing cold beer, burst into his neighbors house and manhandled them only to steal their Chirstmas presents and stumble down the street in a dress…DRUNK. He then proceeded to wreck havok until the police game to reunite him with his father…..in jail. Hold your breath folks because in 2011 you know the action movie of the year is going to The Karate Drunk Kid.

Ea and Dr. Pepper Team up for your delicious enjoyment!

What’s better than drinking soda, eating homemade Nachos and playing your favorite game on a lazy afternoon? SEX! Getting free content for you games that’s what! Electronic Arts and Dr. Pepper have teams up to bring you just that. Starting this week 20 oz bottles of Dr. Pepper come with codes for downloadable content for upcoming EA games. Here is a list of some of the delicious rewards you can drink your way too:

  • In Spore, a dozen Cyborg-themed body parts – such as eyes, heads and arms – can be redeemed and used in the Spore Creature Creator. These parts allow players to mix robot and organic creature body parts to design their own Cyborg creatures. The exclusive Cyborg parts will be usable by all owners of the Spore PC game and Spore Creature Creator Complete.
  • In Mass Effect 2 (shipping Jan. 26 for the Xbox 360 videogame and entertainment system, PC), a shooter RPG from EA’s award-winning BioWare™ division, there are three unique pieces of armor: two helmets and a visor. The game was recently named by The New York Times as one of 2010’s most anticipated games.
  • In Battlefield Heroes, there are four sets of unique character clothing, and consumers get a pair of outfits per download, one for each side.
  • In Battlefield: Bad Company 2 four kit upgrades allow you to become a unique Special Activities soldier, with new camouflage and a modified weapon. Kit upgrades also contains new awards and an additional achievement.

Do you need more incentive to drink Dr. Pepper over Mountain Dew people? I know white people nerds love Mountain Dew, but it looks like 2010 is the year that the Pepper becomes the new gamer drink of choice. Take that WoW Dew!

Here are the three “best” videoes out of Japan from 2009. Lets be honest though, “best” is a personal thing much like masturbation laundry.

The first video we have is an interesting music video for the Denki Groove’s “Fake It”, made by Hideyuki Tanaka. If shirtless Japanese men is your thing watch this video ASAP! If your thing isn’t shirtless men in bikini bottoms perhaps your just afraid of the male body or your stuck in the closet acting as a stringent homophobic male when you secretly google homosexual pornography reproduction in nature ala here, otherwise watch here:

The second video from Taijin Takeuchi, displays a modern urban tale of the of the Wolf and the Pig. okay so maybe there isn’t a parable about Wolfs and Pigs, but this video sure deserves to be a modern brothers Grimm tale, take a look:

The last video, “White Box” by Makoto Yabuki displays a lovely knack for design and creativity. Not entirely sure what the point of the video was, but if he would have had little paper zombies wreck havoc on the table at the end it would have been best picture of the year easy….

Here we have the critically and commercially praised game Half life 2 playing on the much anticipated Project Natal from Microsoft…

Natal is looking better all the time, 2010 is going to be a good year for games. :)
